IRVINE — A driver suspected of DUI and a passenger were in custody Sunday after ramming through the gate of Orange County Fire Authority headquarters in Irvine.
About 11:45 p.m. Friday, a compact vehicle slammed through the front gate of the building on 1 Fire Authority, just east of the Eastern Transportation Corridor (261 Toll Road), according to the OCFA.
The two inhabitants of the car fled the scene on foot, a spokesperson for OCFA told City News, but the Irvine Police Department was able to locate and arrest them soon after.
No injuries were reported and the crash only damaged the gate and some landscaping.
