Rose Bakery Cafe, the popular Corona del Mar breakfast-lunch spot, is expanding after more than two decades in business. The new location, opening March 26 in Stonecreek Plaza in Irvine, will focus on grab-and-go fare for those on the move.

“We’re thrilled to bring the Rose Bakery Cafe experience to Irvine, where we’ve found a community that values quality, great service, and a welcoming space to gather,” said Rose Bakery owner John DeCarrier, who purchased the eatery from the previous owners, Shawn and Dai Lim, in October 2022 “We look forward to becoming a beloved spot for both locals and visitors alike and continuing the legacy of this great concept.”

The menu will remain the same at the new space, featuring such fare as eggs Benedict, avocado toast, more than 10 burritos, pancakes, wraps, sandwiches, burgers, salads, pastries, doughnuts and more.

In addition to its focus on quick takeout, the new Rose Bakery Cafe will also offer 20 to 30 seats of al fresco dining. The eatery will share space with Lavantina’s Pizza, a Newport Beach pizzeria also owned by DeCarrier.

In 2024, Orange County Register readers picked Rose Bakery Cafe as one of the region’s best breakfast spots, giving props to its California Burrito packed with eggs, bacon, spinach, avocado, hash browns and cheese stuffed into a wheat, flour, sun-dried tomato or spinach tortilla.

DeCarrier says he plans on opening a third Rose Bakery Cafe in Orange later this summer on Main Street.
