Just do it at new Nike fitness centers
Irvine fitness buffs have new opportunities at the Los Olivos Marketplace, where Nike is set to open a first-of-its-kind combined training studio this month.
The global clothing brand is branching into operating boutique fitness classes, and it chose Irvine to debut a concept that combines a running studio and training studio under one roof.
“This dual-studio concept gives members an unparalleled opportunity to train how they want, when they want,” said a statement from FitLab, the company working with Nike on its classes.
The training studio offers strength and high-intensity interval training workouts, with four formats focusing on specific training and muscle groups. The running-studio classes combine resistance training with running goals such as speed and endurance.
Sustainable style in every language
Amour Vert, or “Green Love” in French, offers eco-friendly, high-quality women’s clothing featuring hand-drawn prints and artisanal craftsmanship. Considered a pioneer in developing sustainable fashion products and recently opened at Irvine Spectrum Center, Amour Vert’s clothing is ethically sourced and produced in small batches to ensure the highest levels of satisfaction among eco-minded customers.
The company’s commitment to sustainability and environmental protection stretches beyond its stores. Through its “Buy a Tee, Plant a Tree” initiative, Amour Vert partners with the nonprofit American Forests to plant a tree for every T-shirt sold. Since 2010, they have planted over 370,000 trees in North America.
Surf the Spectrum
Recently opened Roark is a premium surf- and travel-inspired clothing brand founded in Laguna Beach. It specializes in crafting high‑quality, sustainable lifestyle apparel as well as travel bags and other accessories.
Roark aims to capture the spirit of adventure through its products, says Mike Wallace, global marketing director. “Roark often draws inspiration from the road less traveled. Our garments reflect the ruggedness, versatility and sustainability required for outdoor activities and travel, while maintaining a modern, stylish and fashionable aesthetic.”
The 1,744-square-foot store at Spectrum Center features surfboards, camping accessories and travel literature, along with the latest Roark gear. The Irvine store also hosts monthly events aimed at fostering community and promoting adventure and the outdoors.
Immersive fun and indoor mini-golf
Spectrum Center is set to expand its entertainment offerings next year with two new venues: Hijinx Hotel and Holey Moley Golf Club, both by Australian company Funlab.
The first Hijinx Hotel in the U.S. will feature 15 immersive challenge rooms, each with a quirky theme, where groups can compete in games like Adore-a-ball Pool and Candy Ball Pool. These rooms provide four-minute windows for players to score points and climb the leaderboard.
Holey Moley Golf Club will offer a creative twist on traditional mini-golf with 27 pop-culture-inspired holes. Guests can unwind at the Caddyshack bar, a space with an ’80s and ’90s vibe that serves signature cocktails and casual bites.
