JSerra’s Brendon See finished second in the discus at the Nike Nationals track and field meet that concluded Monday at the University of Oregon.
See’s best throw of the day at 194 feet, 5 inches. The season best for See, a junior in the 2021-22 school year, was 203-10 at the CIF State meet.
JSerra’s distance relay teams fared well, too, at the meet. The Lions 4X800 group of Ashlee Gallegos, Georgia Jeanneret, Brooke O’Brien and Anastasia Snodgrass was second in the 4X800 relay. Their time was 8:52.68; the winning time was 8:57.74.
The JSerra distance medley team of Hanna Barmettler, Gallegos, Jeanneret and Snodgrass was third at 11:55.72.
Jai Dawson, a senior at Dana Hills during the 2021-22 school year, was third in the 800 at 1:50.28.
Devin Bragg, who just finished his remarkable freshman year at Los Alamitos, was fourth in the 1—at 10.68. His best wind-legal time this season was 10.45.
Crean Lutheran’s Jack Fairchild, a senior during the 2021-22 school year, won the boys 110 hurdles “Emerging Elite” race in 14.55 seconds. “Emerging Elite” is a category for athletes who just miss qualifying for the top-level competition.
