Innovators at Taco Bell have come up with a street taco version of its chalupas.

Cheesy Street Chalupas are made with chicken or steak, onions, cilantro and jalapeño in a cheesy shell Taco Bell describes as inspired by its Quesalupa. That item is sort of a cross between a chalupa and a quesadilla that was introduced for a limited time in 2016.

It’s priced at two for $5.49, according to a news release from the Irvine-based chain. But prices are likely to vary by location. The Taco Bell app allows you to customize it with items such as tomatoes, jalapeños and guacamole for added charges.

Cheesy Street Chalupas are available in a combo with chips, nacho sauce and a drink for around $8.49 or in a box with a crunchy taco, Beefy 5-Layer Burrito, Cinnamon Twists and a drink for around $10.99.

Taco Bell has been busy, adding a $7 Luxe Cravings Box and announcing a two-day immersive “early retirement community”  called The Cantinas next month in Rancho Santa Fe. Reservations sold out in three minutes after going on sale at noon Tuesday. But Taco Bell says that fans can keep track of it by watching its app for “social surprises, additional giveaways and more.”
