Taco Bell is going big for the 20th anniversary of the launch of Baja Blast, culminating in the arrival of its long-awaited Baja Blast gelato.

The “Bajaversary” will begin on Monday, July 29 with a one-day giveaway of a medium-sized Mountain Dew Baja Blast fountain drink or a regular Baja Blast Freeze. The offer is open to “everyone who’s in a Baja Blast mood,” according to a news release.

At 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, there will be a merchandise drop on the Taco Bell app. The item is a Stanley x Bajaversary tumbler. The first 20 users to get one will be awarded free Baja Blast for a year. In fine print, that translates to a $200 Taco Bell gift card.

Finally, beginning Sept. 3, Taco Bell Rewards Members can finally purchase Baja Blast gelato nationwide through the app, the news release said.

The dessert was tested last August at a drive-thru near UC Irvine in Taco Bell’s hometown.

Baja Blast Pie, announced at a Taco Bell fan event in February, is coming later this year, according to Taco Bell representatives.

Mountain Dew is a PepsiCo product, launched exclusively in Taco Bell restaurants in 2004.
